Hello everyone,

In today’s video, I’d love to present to you one of the most common and favorite breakfast in our country, Vietnam: Red Wine Beef Stew (Phở Bò Sốt Vang).

This is a stunning and versatile soup/stew, you can serve it with bread, rice, and in this video, rice noodles. It will take a while to make but the result definitely worth it so please give it a try,

INGREDIENT LIST (serves: 2)
400g beef
3 tsps minced garlic
2 tsps minced ginger
100ml red wine
1 tsp five spice powder
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1 tbs unsalted butter
1/2 of an onion, chopped
3 medium tomatoes, chopped
1 cinnamon stick
2 star anises
2 bay leaves
Salt, pepper

To serve:
Rice noodles
Roughly chopped coriander
Spring onions, cut into 3-5cm pieces

  1. I tried to make it last week. It was tasty and popular. But I couldn't catch the very end before pouring soup into the bowl. Did you mean pour more red wine and boil for (?) minutes? Thank you for sharing.
